A REPORT ON 7th INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY

International Yoga Day is observed every year on June 21 to raise awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world. Yoga is a practice which plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting people’s immune system.

Air Force School, Barrackpore celebrated International Yoga Day with a colorful event on June 21st, 2023. Students from all the classes and teachers, along with a yoga institute, join this event. The programme started with a short speech by Ankita Madam, followed by the oath on Yoga practice by Headmistress madam. Then our students participated in a quiz competition on Yoga conducted by Sanghamitra Madam. Finally we had a yoga session where Kaushik Sir demonstrated various asanas and Abha Kumar Madam explained the benefits of those asanas simultaneously to our students. The entire programme was conducted undee the supervision and instructions of Shantanu Sir.

The School believes that education does not mean mere imparting of knowledge or facts but it encompasses an all round development of an individual. The school has been taking all initiatives to accomplish this. The celebration of International Yoga Day as declared by United Nations was highly an exuberant event with the buoyant and enthusiastic participation of the large number of students, looking forward for such initiatives in forthcoming days.

Yoga is not for only one – it’s for everyone,

Yoga is not for a day- it’s for everyday.”
